Students will make a book for the different rooms in the house.  They will use the following words for this booklet:la casa-house, la puerte-door, la cocina-kitchen, el bano-bathroom, la habitacion-bedroom, la sala-livingroom, el sotano-basement, el comedor-diningroom.  The students will create a page for each room.  After creating a page for each room, the students will draw 5-8 objects that belong in each room.  For example, they will write the word el bano at the top of the page and draw 5-8 items that belong in the bathroom.

This week students will be introduced to following vocabulary: la casa-house, la puerte-door, la cocina-kitchen, el bano-bathroom, la habitacion-bedroom, la sala-livingroom, el sotano-basement, el comedor-diningroom.  Students will design a floor plan for their house and label the different rooms using this week’s vocabulary.

Students will use the following member vocabulary to creat a story about their families in Spanish: la madre (mi mama ) – my mother (mom), el padre (papa) – father (dad), la abuela-my grandmother, el abuelo-grandfather, la hermana- my sister, el hermano-my brother, el primo-my cousin (male), la prima-my cousin (female), el tio-uncle, la tia-aunt.  The story could be fictional or real.  Lower grades may use pictures to create their story and upper grades may write 3 paragraphs in Spanish and English.  Each paragraph will constist of 5 to 7 sentences.  They will be able to use Google Translate...
