Students will compare their community to that of a Spanish speaking community. For example, a student could compare the Hyde Park community to that of a community in Bolivia. The Hyde Park community will be on one side of the accordion and the information about the Spanish speaking community will be on the other side of the accordion. Students will use the information that was given to them in the classroom in order to construct their accordion. Students will discuss, “que podemos hacer durante el invierno”? What can we do in the winter time? Here are the following words for this week: esquiar-to ski, patinar-to skate, hacer gimnasia-to do gymnastics, pescar-to fish, el invierno-winter. Students should make flashcards for these words.
