Students will begin associating the 12 months of the year with the four seasons.

Students will identify the Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile on the map. We will also have a test over the furniture that can be found in the living room. la sala-livingroom, el sillon-armchair, el sofa-sofa, el telefono-telephone, mueble-coffee table, television-television.

Students will use their flashcards to guide our conversations in Spanish. We have begun conversations in Spanish already with some of our students. We will add new words to our flashcards each day.

Students will be assessed over the day of this week. domingo-Sunday, lunes-Monday, martes-Tuesday, miercoles-Wednesday, jueves-Thursday, viernes-Friday, sabado-Saturday.

2nd grade

We will continue to identify the Spanish speaking countries on the map. So far, we have identified:Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador on the map. Next week, my students will be asked to identify the following countries on the map:Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. We have begun talking about the parts of the house. Students made a book or flashcards regarding the parts of the house: la casa-house, la cocina-kitchen, la sala-livingroom, el bano-bathroom, el cuarto-bedroom, el sotano-basement, el jardin-yard. Students will be tested over the parts of the house and 4 Spanish speaking countries next week.

Students will focus on identifying and locating the Spanish Speaking countries on the World map. We will also review the colors, numbers and introduce new vocabulary words pertaining to the parts of the house.

Students will focus on Women’s History Month. We will discuss Frida kahlo and do Frida Kahlo activities in class.
Students will also draw a self-portrait inspired by Frida Kahlo.
