What are our kindergartens learning in Spanish this week?

Our kindergarteners are practicing their numbers 1-30 in Spanish. Our students are also greeting each other in Spanish everyday. This week our students will focus on learning the body parts in Spanish.

We are having a skating party fundraiser to raise funds to offset the costs of the 8th grade trip to DC next May! The party will be on Sunday, November 11th from noon-3 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at A flyer will go home next week and students can turn the money in at the school. We will also have a table set up on certain days next week where they can purchase then.

K-2nd grades are currently working on shapes and colors in Spanish.

4th and 5th grades are talking about the weather in Spanish.

Cohort 5 will be looking at the different Spanish Speaking countries from around the world by plotting the country and capital on the map. We will also talk about the months of the year and how in Argentina it is summer and right now in Chicago it is winter.

This will be a K-4th grade assembly, 5th- 8th grade Auxiliary and Advisory students will be in attendance as well (Nobles, Albrecht, O’Connor, A. Walker, and Collins). Only parents of K-4 will be invited to attend.

Create a mini booklet of the following expressions along with a picture that goes along with the expression: Cover Page- Que tienes?-What’s going on? Write Que tienes? at the top of every page with the exception of the last page. p. 1 Tengo frio. -I am cold, p. 2 Tengo calor-I am hot, p. 3 Tengo sed.-I am thirsty. p. 4 Tengo hambre. I am hungry. p. 5Tengo sueno. I am sleepy. p. 6 Tengo la gripe. I have a fever. p. 7 Tengo miedo. I am afraid. p. 8 Tengo prisa. I am in a hurry. p. 9 Tengo razon. I am right. p. 10. Tengo suerte. I am lucky. p. 11. The last page should read, Cuantos anos tienes? How old are you? On the last page write Tengo ________anos at the bottom of the page.

K-2nd will discuss and draw pictures for the classroom materials in Spanish.

3rd-5th will talk about the expression, I am going in Spanish.  We will use the textbook pages 96, 97  to draw pictures for the vocabulary, A donde vas.

6th grade will continue to talk about the weather in Spanish on pp. 123, 124 in the blue text book.

Middle School will discuss the verbs and conjugate them on page 152 in the blue text.
